Banksy's latest artwork is a painting that celebrates the heroism, hard work and dedication of healthcare professionals during these difficult times.
The artist shared his Game Changer piece earlier today on his Instagram account and it depicts a young boy putting aside a Batman and Spider-Man action figure in a bin and instead raising a nurse - with a cape, Red Cross apron and face mask - mimicking a flying motion.
BBC reports that Banksy dropped off the piece for the staff and patients at Southampton General Hospital with a note that read:
"Thanks for all you're doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if its only black and white."
The painting will remain on display to inspire and uplift staff and patients at the hospital until the fall, when it will be auctioned off to raise money for the United Kingdom National Heath Service (NHS). In related COVID-19 news, UNIQLO has donated 20,000 of its AIRism products to healthcare professionals in New York today.
