Takashi Murakami took to his Instagram yesterday to announce new pieces he's working on to support the Black Lives Matter movement.

Releasing via NTWRK, the artist will donate all proceeds from the series to organizations like Black Lives Matter, Equal Justice Initiative and Color of Change. The series will include six pieces of work that contain the artist's famed flower and skull designs. Each piece is created through silkscreen and spray paint and will be limited to an edition of 300.

Murakami made the following comment via his post:

"I have said that a role of an artist is to discern the present and express it for the future audience. But if my art can effect any change here and now, I want to contribute it not only to give back but to give power to the Black community plagued by the racial injustice."

Murakami still has not announced the pricing or release date yet so stay tuned for more information. Earlier this week, KAWS released a special TAKE vinyl with a portion of proceeds going towards BLM organizations.
