After releasing a retro of the "Fire Red" Air Jordan 5 colorway earlier this year, Jordan Brand continues celebrating the silhouette's 30th anniversary. This time they will commemorate the occasion with a special release that combines three of its most iconic colorways.
Fusing the DNA of the AJ5 "Grape," "Fire Red" and "Metallic Silver" has created the new colorway. The upper's blacked out suede harkens to the "Metallic Silver" version of the sneaker along with the white "Nike Air" stitching on the heel and the silver "shark teeth" along the midsole. "Fire Red" coats the midsole and adds emphasis on the "23" along the backstay. Finally, the tongue features the iconic "Grape" colorway and an aqua colored Jumpman rests under the translucent outsole. The tongue tab also pays homage to all three colorways by listing them upside down.
Fans of the Air Jordan 5 can purchase this pair on June 20 via SNKRS app for $200. In related Jordan news, the brand pledged to donate $100 million USD to the Black community over the next 10 years.
