When it first arrived in 2001, the Air Jordan 1 "Metallic Silver" was a co.jp release, strictly available in Japan only. It came in a matching suitcase and was limited to 2001 pairs. The leather was unparalleled and the translucent Air Jordan Wings logo on the lateral was the icing on the cake for a beautifully crafted pair of J's.
Now, fast forward 19 years and they are finally making a global debut. The retro form will honor its predecessor with the same detailing, including the circular laces. While Japan will once again receive 2001 pairs in a suitcase, everyone else will finally be able to purchase these "Tokyo" versions for $170 on August 7 via SNKRS app and select retailers. We can't wait. In related news, the Nike SB Dunk Low "Denim Gum" is inspired by Japanese Sashiko and will release a week earlier outside North America.
