Tokyo Design Studio New Balance (TDS) first collaborated with snow peak last October and now the duo are releasing their second capsule collection.

Dubbed the Niobium collection, the collection heavily focuses on functionality in the harshest conditions. In addition to the eVent fishing capsule which is comprised of a wader, vest and garter, (along with Japanese exclusive tee and shorts), the stand-out item is without a doubt the modular footwear. TDS and snow peak have come together to create the first iteration of the TDS Niobium Concept 1.

The shoe features the sole unit of New Balance's MT801 trail running sneakers and the upper is crafted with a waterproof eVent bootie that can be interchanged with a sandal lining. The naming is inspired by the 41st element in the periodic table, Niobium, which has the symbol "Nb." With a fishing theme, the shoes can transform from waterproof boots into outdoor sandals and indoor slippers easily. You can also attach the gaiter to the boot.

Items are offered in Sage Green and Black and will be available in select stores on August 29 with snow peak releasing the products online and in-store on September 4. In related news, check out White Mountaineering and Levi's Made & Crafted collaboration.
