It's been a hot minute, literally. With summer's first heat wave hitting NYC and areas around the US for the first time this past weekend, we can only hope that everyone is staying hydrated and rocking sunscreen and heat on feet. The last few week's have been a roller coaster ride and it all culminates to Kanye West celebrating his 44th birthday today with a surprise YEEZY GAP pre-order launch. Here's what you may have missed the last two weeks.

FUTURA launches FUTURALAND in Hong Kong

FUTURA recently launched his largest installation yet in Hong Kong alongside AllRightsReserved. Dubbed FUTURALAND, the FUTURA LABORATORIES curated exhibition brings together an out-of-this-world theme at BELOWGROUND in Hong Kong's LANDMARK ATRIUM. On display until June 16, fans can enter a raffle on DDTStore for a chance to purchase the X-6000 (edition of 150), MOBILE35 (edition of 25) or MOBILE50 (edition of 25). The launch also featured collaborative apparel with brands like BBC and Off-White.

Virgil Abloh teases Off-White x Nike "Dear Summer" collection

You probably know by now but Virgil Abloh officially confirmed 50 pairs of Nike Dunks for a collaborative Off-White "Dear Summer" collection by teasing the box on Instagram. He explains that the idea stems from 2017's "The Ten" and seeing sneakers as various editions in the form of art. We're excited to see what colorways he's cooked up for this one.

Teddy Santis unveils New Balance 990 V6

Teddy Santis was named Creative Director of New Balance's Made in the USA footwear line back in April and he recently took to his personal 'gram to show off what they've been cooking up. Arriving in 2022, the next iteration of the 990, the V6, is shown off in the classic NB grey color palette. Recent ALD x NB collaborations have all been a hit and this preview keeps the momentum going.

Nike and Converse unveil Space Jam: A New Legacy collection

Space Jam: A New Legacy starring LeBron James is set to hit theaters and HBO Max on July 16. Before that happens, Nike and Converse had to officially unveil the movie's apparel and sneaker collections. You can either rep the Goon Squad or the Tune Squad this time around and there's a plethora of footwear choices for the whole family to choose from including multiple LeBron 18's. Did we mention that the LeBron 19 is previewed in the film? Check out the options below and expect Nike and Converse to roll out products in July ahead of the film's release date.

YEEZY GAP officially launches first item

Celebrating his 44th birthday, Kanye West surprise dropped the first item in his new YEEZY GAP collection, the Round Jacket in blue. Made from recycled nylon, West wore the jacket around LA over the weekend in the scorching heat. Available for pre-order only in the US for $200, the piece will ship in Fall 2021. Sneaker subscription service KYX World launches

The sneaker industry is continuing to grow in unprecedented ways thanks to creative minds who think outside the box. Just launched, KYX World is the newest player in the market and they bring a subscription sneaker service into the fold. Basically, they offer grail rotations on a monthly basis for both men and women. You can opt for DS or lightly worn and the subscription price ranges from $49/month to $599/month. Pharrell Williams x adidas Originals HU NMD "Orange" release info

After releasing an "Aqua" colorway back in May, Pharrell and adidas Originals are dropping another bright rendition of the HU NMD this weekend with the "Orange" colorway. Once again channeling the dialect of Xhosa, "ULUNTU" covers the Primeknit upper of the sneaker. These will be available on June 12 via CONFIRMED and select retailers for $220.

Pharrell unveils next adidas NMD

Nobody does a swaggy unveil quite like Pharrell. Skateboard P opted for his bike as he showed off adidas' new NMD model. While little is known so far, we can tell that the cushioning will be just as comfortable if not even more cozy than its predecessors.
